2022.01.17 16:35 Sadgalchi What books made you fall in love with reading again?
Writing on mobile- apologies for typos/grammar in advance.
I’m in the process of reading “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” and it’s the first book I’ve been able to get hooked on in years. It’s made me excited to start reading again and I can’t wait to pick up some new books after I finish.
For those of you that have gone through periods of not being able to concentrate or really get immersed in a book, what novels gave you that “spark” again?

2022.01.17 16:35 CambioDePlanes Vision problem in one eye
Female, 42 years old, 68 inches, BMI 25, no previous health problems. Got laser eye surgery 12 years ago and have had a great result.
Yesterday, I was seeing lightning in my left eye, every time I moved it. It was Sunday, so I decided to sleep on it. Today, I woke up and I can see poorly through my left eye. I have thousands of black dots obscuring my vision. My right eye is unaffected.
I went to the clinic in my town today, and the doctor recommended lubricating eye drops and put a patch on my eye. I can still see the spots when sun shines into the patch.
I haven’t experienced any trauma to my head or eye.
My question is: does this sound like an emergency or should I make an appointment with the eye doctor when they come to my town’s clinic (in ten days, if there is space)?

2022.01.17 16:35 worldofoysters Was London bombed most heavily for political reasons or for sound military reasons- would it have been a better strategy for the Luftwaffe to more heavily bomb other British cities?
Obviously many other British cities were bombed - most infamously Coventry - but only London was bombed for over fifty days in a row. London was a huge industrial Centre and port obviously, but so were many other cities. Was it bombed so heavily because it was the seat of government? For propaganda? Was it bombed so heavily simply because it's in the South of England and so easier to get to than say Glasgow? Could the Luftwaffe have taken a different approach and was one considered.
